Design Work

The below is a showcase of some of the graphic design work I’ve completed using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. These include mock assignments as well as paid projects.

Hot Sauce Label Re-design

This label was created using hand-drawn elements. Both the skull & peppers were done in pen and then refined/colored in photoshop. The “Red Rooster” font is meant to be reminiscent of Louisiana voodoo.

Minimalist Frankenstein Book Cover

This cover was designed to portray the book in a minimalist style with a maximum of three colors. It does not play into the movie industry’s portrayal of a monster with bolts in his neck. Instead it references 3 important moments in the book: when the monster sees his reflection for the first time, the castle Dr. Frankenstein created him in, and the iceberg the monster floated away on.

HUD Movie Posters

The challenge was to create two movie poster re-designs for the movie Hud. The 1963 film is about an unscrupulous, arrogant cowboy who is defined as “the man with the barbed-wire soul.” One was created in the style of my favorite designer, Milton Glaser, and the other in my own style. Both versions involved hand-draw elements that were scanned and edited into their final formats.

Pet Portraits in Illustrator

This detailed pet portrait was designed in Illustrator. Using the photo as a guide, I built blocks of color from straight and curved lines. The greatest challenge was finding the right range of grays to portray the light reflecting on the dog’s black fur.

Logo and Brand Design

This is a mock brand and logo design for a sound healer and yoga teacher. Using her Instagram feed as a basis for color and style preferences, I built a 6-color brand palette and a set of cohesive logos for use across a variety of mediums including a website, business cards, digital event flyers, etc.
